Brief Description of AVCHD Files

Most High Definition Video Cameras use the AVCHD system to author, compress and store HD video files on a variety of media including Blu-ray disc, computer hard drives and removable flash storage such as SDHC memory cards. The AVCHD (Advanced Video Coding High Definition) file system was jointly developed by Sony and Panasonic to author, compress and store High Definition video using the file extensions .MTS or .M2TS. Unfortunately, as they stand, AVCHD files are incompatible with Windows and Mac computers and they can't be uploaded to any online social networking sites like YouTube without first being converted to the recommended file formats of these sites. This where the MTS Video File Converter comes in.

MTS and M2TS High Definition Video Converter Software (AVCHD)

The Aunsoft Video file converter works with both .MTS and M2TS video files and converts them into AVI, MPG, MP4, VOB, 3GP, 3G2, FLV, DV, MOV, WMV, ASF, MKV, M4V, MP3, AAC, M4A, WMA, WAV, AC3, MP2, MKA, and FLAC formats. In short, this effortless Video Converter software provides great flexibility.

Fast Effortless Video File Converter Software

On opening your software you will see the initial view image. For effortless video conversion simply click 'Add' to highlight the MTS file on your hard drive. Double-click your chosen file in the left window to load it in to the converter as shown in the second image. The current profile of your source file can be seen in the right window. You can also preview and confirm your video file by pressing play.

With your chosen file name highlighted, click the format window below to access the large number of profiles available. The third image shows just some of the file conversions available under the HD format.

The chosen profile can then be customised further by clicking on 'Settings' for additional options such as the codec, size (pix), bitrate (kbps) and frame rate (fps) as in the customise settings image. The final image illustrates just some of the many file conversion possibilities available.

This is an easy-to-use MTS video file converter that's not only fast but clearly punches well above its weight.
